Waterfront Activities

Instructional and recreational swimming activities take place in Chautauqua Lake. The first docks were built in 1899 and the seawall was constructed in the early 1950s. Canoes and kayaks are launched from the slips to the sides of the swimming docks.

Below is one of the original boards that used to be used to keep track of who was in the water. Washers were placed on the hooks to indicate whether someone was in or out of the water. The numbers refer to the roll call number that each child has.
